Hi marmite, thanks for the invite. Was having a chat today with someone about books that have become films and indescrepancies between the two mediums. The Green Mile by Stephen King was discussed at length, please don't ask how it started I don't remember.

I think films of books are never as good as the book. The only adaptation I have ever seen that was close to the book was the TV version of Brideshead Revisited but that was 11 hours long so they had time to make a good fist of it.
